9.23.2016: NHLA Chair Update

Estimados Colegas,

It was great to see so many of you in DC last week. We had a very successful 25th anniversary celebration and a productive Board meeting. Here is a short list of some of the updates related to our work:

  • Our New NHLA Priorities Video (please share in social media): It is now up on youtube and available for you to use and share. It will also be embedded on our website. You can find it at:

  • NHLA White House Summit: Happy to report that our Latino Priorities Summit at the White House has been approved. Please hold October 12th in your calendars. More details are forthcoming from the White House.

  • LatinasRepresent HHM: The theme is Latinas Rising. We will be highlighting emerging Latina leaders throughout the month. We would appreciate it if you would share the social media content from our NHLA accounts.

  • Latino Appointments Project: We announced the new joint initiative that our board approved with Latino Victory on Tuesday. Please share the social media and press release about this new project.

  • NHLA Voter Guide: Our voter guide will be released soon, still working with the lawyers. We are shooting for the first week of October. Please share the announcement about our voter guide from our social media. We will distribute the press release and we will put the guide on our website. The social media kit is attached. We will send you the final voter guide before it is released.

  • Latina Equal Pay Day: We will observe Latina Equal Pay Day on November 1st. Monica will be spearheading the campaign for LCLAA and NHLA. Please email her at [email protected] to participate.

  • Website Update: Per your request, the sections of the public policy agenda have been uploaded as separate documents. We uploaded them prior to our 25th anniversary celebration. Mónica has asked the designer to send me updated pages with our branding on each separate section since it was not originally designed that way.

For now, we can use what is on the site, but these will be updated within the coming weeks if you would like to print them for your advocacy work.
In Unity,  Hector E. Sanchez
