Since 1992, the New York Chapter has provided more than 30 academic scholarships to promising young female students of 

Puerto Rican descent who are enrolled in an accredited college or in a training/vocational school. Despite many challenges, 

our scholarship recipients have become leaders in law, medicine, education, government, and the non-profit fields.

We are proud to announce that  applications for the 2015 Scholarship Awards are now being accepted.

 The 2014 Scholarship Awards Gala was a huge success!! 

On Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Tosca Marquee, with over 250 people in 

attendance, the 2014 NACOPRW-NY Annual Scholarship Gala was a smashing 


We honored four dynamic women of Puerto Rican descent for their 

incredible professional achievements and contributions to the community.   

  • NYPD Inspector Ellen Chang, Commanding Officer of Community Affairs Division

  • Ms. Carol Robles Roman, President and CEO of Legal Momentum

  • Ms. Yolanda Pumarejo, Vice President, SSEU-Local 371 

  • Ms. Jasmin Ray, Founder of Wall Ball World

We awarded individual $1,000 scholarship awards to five incredibly talented Puerto Rican young women.
